Google is rolling out one of the most practical and powerful AI features yet: the ability to generate entire presentations directly within the Gemini app. This update leverages the “Canvas” feature in Gemini to turn a simple text prompt or an uploaded document into a full-fledged, multi-slide deck, complete with a theme and relevant images. This is a huge time-saver that moves Gemini from a research assistant to a true content creation partner.
From an idea to a full presentation in seconds
The process is incredibly simple. From the Gemini app (on the web for now), you can select “Canvas” in the toolbar and ask Gemini to “create a presentation”. You can either specify a topic (e.g., “a lesson on the Roman Republic”) or upload your own source material, like a research report, class notes, or a sales brief.
Gemini will then generate a complete set of slides based on your input. Once the draft is ready, you can export the presentation directly to Google Slides to continue refining it or to collaborate with your team.
For everyone
Google highlights just how useful this will be for a wide range of users:
- Professionals: Can upload a sales brief to create an initial pitch deck or turn a dense research report into a summary presentation for a board meeting.
- Educators: Can instantly create a first draft of a lesson presentation with engaging visual aids, saving valuable prep time.
- Students: Can transform their class notes or a finished document into a structured presentation, helping them quickly organize their ideas for a class project.
Availability
This powerful new presentation tool is rolling out now and should be complete by November 12, 2025. For now, it’s available on Gemini web (gemini.google.com) and mobile web, with availability in the native Android and iOS apps coming soon.
The feature is being made available to a massive audience, including nearly all Google Workspace customers (Business, Enterprise, Education, and Nonprofits), as well as subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra.
