April has seen a buyer’s market for Chrome devices and the deals just keep coming. So, we thought it a good idea to start doing a roundup once or twice a month to help our readers find the perfect Chromebook not matter your budget.
The best news is that a lot of premium Chromebooks have seen significant discounts as of late and that means you could get a lot more hardware than you expected. Here’s a rundown of the best deals still available as of Friday, April 19th.
Pixelbook
It isn’t the best deal on a Chromebook but it is worth a mention that most retailers have taken the Pixelbook back to its MSRP of $999 but you can still save a little cash on Google’s flagship at Amazon. The savings start at $100 off for the base model and go up from there. If you’re looking at the Core i7, 512GB NVMe model, you can still save nearly $330.
Yoga Chromebook
If you’re looking for the latest and greatest from Chrome OS, Amazon is a great place to find it. Currently, you can snag a couple of 8th Gen Kaby Lake convertible Chromebooks there at a healthy discount as well as the world’s first detachable Chromebook.
For the productive types, the 15.6″ Lenovo Yoga Chromebook with an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of ram and an impressive 128GB of storage is on sale at a discount of just under $105. This is the 1080P model not the UHD 4K version and it DOES NOT have a backlit keyboard so don’t pull the trigger if those are must-haves. You can pick up the convertible Yoga Chromebook for $594.52.
Inspiron Chromebook 14
Next up in the premium department is Dell’s stylus-wielding Inspiron Chromebook. If you missed the deal earlier this week, do not despair. While the price has gone up a bit, you can still score the FHD Core-i3 convertible w/stylus for a very palatable $499.99.
HP Chromebook x2 detachable
Now for one of the most down-played yet most versatile devices to hit the market in the past couple of years. From the Pixelbook-esque display to the included keyboard that trumps that of the Pixel Slate, the HP Chromebook x2 delivers a lot of great features for a fair price and throws the detachable tablet experience as icing on the cake.
Amazon has the world’s first detachable Chromebook on sale for $495 which makes it a seriously solid purchase especially when you consider the closest comparable Slate will run you $800 without the keyboard.
Acer Chromebook Spin 13
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a deal on Acer’s flagship convertible. Still my daily driver, the Acer offers just about everything you could want in a Chromebook including the latest Core-i5 processor, metal chassis, garaged stylus and a convertible form-factor. My only gripe with the Spin 13 has always been the price.
Amazon is selling the 8GB/128GB model for $699 and that makes it a lot easier to recommend. Yes, you can get other devices with similar specs for a little less sometimes but the Acer has a professional aesthetic that I like and it doesn’t lack any one particular feature.
Lenovo C330 & S330
For the budget conscious, Lenovo has a pair of MediaTek devices available that can get a nice device in your hands for well under $300. The 14″ Chromebook S330 is still $60 off and comes with 64GB of storage which is a welcome sight as the need for drive space becomes more crucial on Chrome OS.
In the convertible department, the latest 11.6″ Lenovo Chromebook C330 is going for $249.99 which is a savings of $50 and you’ll get the one with the larger, 64GB storage. Not a bad deal.
Note: These two devices are built off of previous baseboards and therefore have an End of Life date of June 2022. The cost is attractive but keep in mind that after this date, updates are not guaranteed.
HP Chromebook x360 14
Probably the deal of the year, the HP Chromebook x360 14 recently dropped to an insane $399 at Best Buy. While the sale was supposed to last until Saturday, Best Buy bumped the price back to $449 but seriously, that is still a great deal on a Core-i3, 8GB Chromebook of this caliber.
HP Chromebook x360 14 at Best BuyWe’ll do our best to keep you in the loop as deals pop up but make sure to keep an eye out for the weekly roundup and never miss a deal.
