As we mentioned, the Acer Chromebook R13 has become one of the hottest tickets around. With very few new Chrome OS devices released for the holiday shopping season, the demand for the convertible Chromebook has skyrocketed.
We shared yesterday some updated availability for the 64GB model at Newegg and Adorama. Now, it appears that Adorama has upped the ante and thrown in a Brenthaven Elliot sleeve when you pre-order the Acer for the impressive price of $399.
The case, which is valued at $59.95 according to the retailer, is designed for the 13.3″ MacBook lineup and should make a perfect resting place for the like-sized Acer. Poking around the web, I have found the case for a little less. Still, that’s a very welcome gift to throw in with a device that is already sure to fly off the shelves.
What’s the catch?
There really isn’t a catch, per se. There is, however, a caveat. I received confirmation today from an Adorama representative that the 64GB Acer will not be available on their site until December 26th. That was a little disappointing. Especially considering the fact that both B&H has an expected availability of November 28th.
Even more so considering what one of our readers shared today. The Acer R13 is now showing as “in stock” on Amazon. As of the publication of this article the seller, Beach Audio, is listing 20 units available.
Any way you slice it, the Acer Chromebook R13 is a hot commodity. If you’re in the market for the 64GB model, you have a decent handful of purchasing options. The Adorama deal is a sweet one. If you don’t mind the wait, it is by far the best bang for your buck.
