When Google first announced Google Vids, it felt very much like an Enterprise-only tool destined to live alongside Docs and Sheets for corporate presentations. But this week, Google has completely flipped the script. In a massive update, the company is opening up Google Vids to every personal Google account, and they are bringing the big guns with them.
Veo 3.1 for all
The headline here is that you no longer need a high-priced Workspace subscription to play with Google’s most advanced video generation models. Starting today, anyone with a standard Google account can use Veo 3.1 directly inside the Vids editor.
Google is giving personal accounts 10 video generations per month at no cost. Whether you want to turn a simple text prompt into a high-quality B-roll clip or breathe life into a static photo for a social media post, the power of Veo 3.1 is now just a click away at vids.new.
More to come
While the free-to-use Veo 3.1 access is the star of the show today, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Google also dropped some serious Pro features for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers: including custom music generation and directable AI avatars that we’ll be diving into over the next few days.
For now, if you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump into Google Vids, the barrier to entry just disappeared. Hop on over and start experimenting!
