Without a doubt, Lenovo’s OLED-toting Duet 5 Chromebook is the best ChromeOS tablet on the market but the smaller Duet 3 is still the more desirable device for those wanting something a little more portable. The 11-inch ChromeOS 2-in-1 is sleek and lightweight and the second-gen Snapdragon SoC that powers it boasts just enough horsepower to make this tablet a decent multi-tasker.
I find it somewhat difficult to recommend the smaller Duet 3 because the price difference between it and the larger Duet 5 is negligible when Best Buy offers its frequent discounts of $100 or more on the latter. It’s even more difficult when the Best Buy version of the Duet 5 comes with 8GB of RAM but the BB model of the Duet 3 only comes with 4GB. That said, a deep discount isn’t a reason to purchase a device if you’re seriously not interested in a 13.3″ tablet.
Thankfully, the Duet 3 enjoys its own share of discounts and right now, Best Buy has knocked the price down to the noteworthy price of $299. Coincidentally, that’s the retail price of the original Duet tablet that isn’t even in the same class as the Duet 3. Now, that’s not a massive discount but the $80 price reduction is the best we’ve seen on the Duet 3 since its debut and, in my humble opinion, it is well worth $300. Here’s a look at what the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 has to offer.
Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3
- ChromeOS
- Snapdragon 7c Gen 2
- 4GB LPDDR4X RAM
- 128GB eMMC storage
- 10.9″ LCD display 400 nits
- 5MP front-facing camera/8MP rear camera
- Detachable folio keyboard
- 2 x USB-C
- 2 x 1W speakers
- USI 2.0 Compatible
Any way you slice it, this Chromebook offers up a great value at $299. One thing to note, you will need to grab a stylus directly from Lenovo as this Chromebook only works with the USI 2.0 protocol. For now, Lenovo is the only company with a 2.0 USI stylus on the market. More are on the way but Lenovo’s pen is very good and it is priced under $40.
