It’s that time of year again where we look at the growing, evolving Chromebook landscape and pick what we feel are the best devices out there for you to consider buying for yourself or a loved one. Once again, I’m not messing with categories or any sort of groupings; I simply want to give you the list of Chromebooks I think are flat-out the best you can buy.
Prices are always all over the place on all these Chromebooks, so talking about things in terms of “best value” or “best deal” isn’t as applicable as it once was. Instead, I’ve put together a list of the 7 Chromebooks that I’d personally give to anyone asking me about purchasing a new device right now.
Each of these devices offers up something a bit unique, and every single one is a fantastic example of what a great Chromebook is. Their prices on any given day can fluctuate wildly, so I’m not going to get deep into what each one costs right now. Instead, let’s just take a wide-angle look at my 7 favorites as 2025 comes to a close so I can share just a bit about why I’d recommend each one.
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14

Even after months with this device, I stand by my assertion that this is my favorite Chromebook ever made. After using it as my daily driver for weeks across coffee shops, home offices, and travel, it has proven itself to be the perfect laptop. It features a stunning 14-inch, 400-nit OLED display that makes everything look incredible, a fantastic keyboard, and a build quality that feels distinctly “Google-y” and refined.
But the real star here is the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor inside. It makes the device the fastest Chromebook we’ve tested, but it does so without fans and with absolutely absurd battery life—I’m regularly seeing 17 hours on a charge. It handles Android apps better than any Intel device I’ve used, runs completely silent, and never slows down. If you want the best all-around experience, this is it.
Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514

For those who want the incredible battery life and silent performance of the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra but need a convertible form factor, Acer has the solution. The Spin 514 takes that powerful, efficient ARM chip and puts it inside a premium, aluminum-clad chassis that supports USI pen input and 360-degree versatility.
One of the standout features here is the 14-inch touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Once you use a high-refresh screen on a Chromebook, it is very hard to go back to standard 60Hz. Combined with 12GB of RAM standard and battery life that easily lasts two full workdays, this is a productivity beast that is fantastic for everything from note-taking to heavy multitasking.
ASUS ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus

If you are looking for an absolute beast of specs and screen quality in a traditional clamshell Chromebook, the ASUS ExpertBook CX54 is likely the device for you. While the Samsung wins on thinness, the ASUS wins on raw capability, port selection, and display brightness. It packs a stunning 14-inch, 16:10 QHD touchscreen that hits an incredible 500 nits of brightness and features a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It is arguably the best, brightest IPS panel you can find on a Chromebook right now.
Inside, it is a total beast. With an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, a massive 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of fast storage, this machine is built to handle heavy multitasking and Linux apps without breaking a sweat. Combined with a sleek all-metal chassis, a fantastic glass trackpad, and a fingerprint sensor, it offers a truly “no-compromise” experience for power users who want a laptop that will feel fast and premium for years to come.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus

If you want the device that simply feels premium the moment you pick it up, this is the one. Samsung managed to pack a massive 15.6-inch OLED display into a chassis that is impossibly thin and light. It’s an all-metal build that feels substantial without weighing you down, and that screen is simply stunning—offering deep blacks, vibrant colors, and plenty of brightness for working or watching movies.
Under the hood, it nails the Chromebook Plus requirements with an Intel Core 3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. While it might not be the absolute most powerful chip on this list, it handles everything ChromeOS throws at it with ease. It’s the perfect balance of portability and screen real estate, wrapped in a package that looks better than almost anything else on the market.
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 2-in-1

If you love what Lenovo did with the Chromebook Plus 14 but need a device that can flip around into tablet mode—and you want to save a little cash—this is the answer. The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 2-in-1 brings the versatility of a convertible hinge to Lenovo’s “Plus” lineup without breaking the bank. You get a solid 14-inch, 300-nit touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a fingerprint scanner, and a physical privacy shutter for the webcam.
It’s powered by the Intel Core 3 (N355) paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While it isn’t quite as premium as the OLED model above, it checks every single box for a modern, powerful Chromebook. Finding a convertible with this level of performance and build quality at its price point is rare, making it arguably one of the best value picks of the year.
Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714

The Spin 714 has been a staple on “Best of” lists for years, and for good reason: it is the ultimate workhorse. If you need raw Intel power and maximum connectivity, this is still an amazing device. It features a rigid aluminum chassis, a bright 14-inch screen (340+ nits), and a QHD webcam that looks great on calls.
What sets it apart for power users is the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor and the inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 ports. It’s powerful, versatile, and includes a garaged stylus in some configurations (or supports USI pens in others). It might not be as thin as the Samsung or as long-lasting as the ARM devices, but for pure, uncompromised performance and utility, the Spin 714 is tough to beat.
Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11″

Lenovo has practically owned the Chromebook tablet space since the original Duet, and the newest 11-inch model is their best one yet. This isn’t just a consumption device; with the MediaTek Kompanio 838 processor inside, it’s a capable little computer that is perfect for travel or lounging on the couch.
The specific model I recommend is the one with 8GB of RAM. It comes with the USI 2.0 pen in the box, a bright 400-nit 2K display, and the excellent kickstand/keyboard cover combo. It handles multitasking much better than the base model and serves as a perfect secondary device that can actually get real work done when you need it to.
