Holiday shopping is already underway as Prime Days was pushed back to October and many retailers are now ramping up “Early Black Friday” deals to substitute the in-person shopping madness that arrives after Thanksgiving. Whatever you may be shopping for this season, you probably want to get the most bang for your buck. I know I do. That’s why you should always shop with Rakuten.

While you may or may not be familiar with Rakuten, chances are good that you’ve heard of Ebates. The concept is simple. Ebates, now Rakuten Rewards, partners with thousands of sites to bring cashback when you shop at eligible retailers. What kind of companies can you find in Rakuten’s list of partners? It would probably be easier to list the sites that you can’t get cash back when using Rakuten. You’ll find more than 2,500 retailers ranging from PC makers to VPNs, Shoe stores to subscription food services and everything in between. Here’s a quick list of some of the most popular sites for the tech-minded shopper. (Cash back may vary depending on the category and time of purchase. These are “up-to” percentages.)

So, how does Rakuten work? That’s the most beautiful thing about this shopping companion. It’s free to join and all you have to do is shop the sites you normally do. You can install the free Chrome Extension and Rakuten will alert you when there is cash to be grabbed. For some icing on the cake, the extension can also alert you when there are coupons or codes available and apply them automatically. There’s also a mobile app where you can shop all your favorite cash back stores conveniently from your phone. Every three months, you’ll get a Rakuten Big Fat Check in the mail or deposited directly to your PayPal account.

To kick off the holiday shopping season, we’ve teamed up with Rakuten to give you a chance at scoring some extra cheddar for your gift buying adventures. To enter, you only need a Rakuten account. If you don’t have one, sign up with our link below and you’ll pick up $30 in your account the moment you make a qualifying purchase. Once you have your account set up, grab your first entry below and you’ll unlock four more ways to enter. Happy shopping.
