The speculation is over. After weeks of leaks pointing to a mid-August timeframe, Google has now made it official. The company has sent out invites for its annual hardware event, Made by Google 2025, which will take place on Wednesday, August 20.

The keynote is set to kick off at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET and will be held in New York City this year. For everyone who wants to follow along at home, the event will be livestreamed on YouTube as well. This announcement confirms that Google is sticking with its new, earlier launch schedule for Pixel hardware, landing just a week later than last year’s event.

What is expected

Based on the official tease and the torrent of recent leaks, we have a pretty clear picture of the main event. Google is promising the latest on “Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more.”

We fully expect to see the entire Pixel 10 lineup, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Given that the hardware designs are expected to be largely iterative, the focus will likely be on new software and AI features, all powered by the new TSMC-made Tensor G5 chip. We also anticipate that Android 16 QPR1 with the new Material 3 Expressive design language will make its debut on these devices.

On the wearable front, we’re expecting the Pixel Watch 4, which should again be available in two sizes. And for audio, the affordable Pixel Buds 2a are also on the rumored product list.

But what about that ‘and more’?

Here’s where things could get interesting. The official invitation teases “Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more.” We know about the phones, watches, and buds. But what is the “and more”?

No other major hardware has been rumored for this event, which makes this little phrase particularly intriguing. Could it refer to the new charging accessories that have leaked, like the MagSafe-style charging puck or a potential Pixel Stand 3? Or could Google have a surprise up its sleeve that has managed to stay under wraps?

I’m doubtful there’s a huge surprise on the way, but you never know! It’s shaping up to be another massive hardware launch for Google with or without a non-rumored reveal, so be sure to mark your calendars for August 20th and join in as we watch Google showcase all its latest wares.
