My favorite Chromebook Plus model is only $375 right now

I’ve made no bones about this: the Lenovo Slim 3i Chromebook Plus is by far my favorite of the new Chromebook Plus models to hit store shelves. While it doesn’t have the entire bag of tricks you get in devices like the HP x360 14c Chromebook Plus or the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook Plus, the Slim 3i Chromebook Plus delivers the things I cherish most in a nicer Chromebook build, and of all the new devices released over the past few months, it’s hands-down my favorite.

And right now, you can get it for a whopping $175 off the normal MSRP of $549.99, bringing the price all the way down to just $374.99. For a Chromebook that has only been discounted down below $400 a couple times since fall of 2023, this is a big deal. Not so much because it only goes on sale from time to time, but because this is some of the best Chromebook hardware you can ask for at this price point.

From the ultra-rigid chassis to the build quality to the screen, keyboard, and trackpad, the Slim 3i gets nearly everything right in the Chromebook Plus equation. Looking at it on the table, you may not think this device should command a $549.99 price tag, but let me assure you that it absolutely does. Through and through, this thing is so great to use on a daily basis.

Once you get past that confidence-inspiring outer portion, you are met with one of my favorite displays on a Chromebook that has touch capability, is plenty bright at 300+ nits, wards off glare with its matte finish, and has some of the punchiest colors and saturation that I’ve seen on a Chromebook. It’s really a treat to look at.

And then the keyboard is just fantastic if you like lots of travel and feedback under your fingers. The backlighting barely bleeds and is basically only visible through the symbols on the keys and the typing experience on this device is just amazing. With a solid trackpad underneath, this keyboard/trackpad combo is absolutely solid.

The internals do the job, too, with a 12th-gen Core i3-N305 under the hood paired up with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Decent speakers and a great 1080p webcam round things out to give you all you could want in a Chromebook experience. No, it isn’t convertible and doesn’t have the more-powerful 12th-gen Core i3 inside, but I barely notice with daily tasks. And the solidity it is built with makes you want to approach it and use it.

And right now, you can snag it for just $374.99, and you absolutely should. As long as you don’t need a convertible device, there’s just nothing bad I can say about the Slim 3i. It is the measuring stick I use to compare nearly every single device to, and it has set the bar quite high. The fact that you can get this sort of device at this price is a bit crazy, but it also means you should 100% take advantage. No telling how long it will last!
