Alright, I’ll admit I had a bit of a late jump on the morning thanks to some very early morning commitments yesterday paired up with the time change. It bled over to today and I needed a bit more sleep after getting the kids to school. So, I’m coming in a bit on the back end of this, but I really did think my Chromebook was acting up for a few minutes this morning until I realized that Twitter/X is actually the one with the issues.
If you are like me, you may have spent a few minutes wondering if your Chrome browser had suddenly decided to take a vacation, but this one isn’t on your browser or hardware. Instead, it seems there have been a few outages this morning for X, and no exact cause just yet.
At the moment, I’m seeing the usual suspects: error messages, feeds that refuse to load, and an inability to switch accounts in the browser. I don’t really leverage the X app very often, but it seems it is also having issues this morning – so things are going sideways at the server level, it would seem.
For now, there’s not much to do but wait. We’ll update this post when we see some sort of confirmation that X is back online. As a site that is at its best when it can deliver real-time reporting on all sorts of events around the world, downtime is a pretty big problem. I’m sure the developers are scrambling to right the ship, but with three outages this morning alone, it seems the issue might be pretty big. We’ll see how it pans out.
