If you are a visual learner, asking an AI chatbot to explain a complex physics or chemistry concept usually ends in frustration. Sure, it can generate paragraphs of highly accurate text and maybe a static diagram, but it rarely gives you a true feel for how things actually work.
Now, Google is completely changing that dynamic. In a massive new update, the Gemini app can now generate fully interactive 3D models and functional simulations directly inside your chat window.
Say goodbye to static diagrams
Instead of just reading about how a double pendulum swings or how the moon orbits the Earth, Gemini now lets you actively play with the variables.
When you ask about a complex topic, Gemini can now generate a custom visualization. Want to understand orbital mechanics? Gemini will render a simulation where you can manually adjust sliders for gravity strength and initial velocity, allowing you to instantly see how those specific variables create a stable (or unstable) orbit.
Trying to wrap your head around chemistry? You can generate 3D molecules and actually click and drag to rotate them on your screen. It is a massive leap forward for students, educators, or anyone who just wants to go down a science rabbit hole on the web.
How to try it out
The best part is that you don’t have to wait. This new feature is rolling out globally right now to all Gemini app users To get your hands on it:
- Head over to gemini.google.com.
- Make sure you have the Pro model selected in your prompt bar.
- Use trigger phrases like “show me” or “help me visualize” followed by your concept (e.g., “help me visualize how a double slit experiment works”).
Google says this upgrade is on the way, so if you don’t see it quite yet, it should be arriving in your Gemini app soon. For the moment, I still don’t have it, so your mileage may vary; but I’d expect it to show up this week.
