Creating high-quality video content used to require a massive time investment, but Google Vids is trying to completely change that. By using AI to help storyboard, assemble, and voice your projects, anyone in the Workspace ecosystem or with a Google account can now play the role of a video producer.
And now, Google is making it just as easy to publish those videos as it is to create them. According to a new Workspace update, you can now export your Google Vids projects directly to YouTube without ever leaving the app.
Bypassing the download folder
Previously, finishing a video meant exporting it as a chunky MP4 file, navigating to YouTube Studio, and uploading it manually. It wasn’t the end of the world, but it was a tedious extra step.

With this update, a new option in the File menu lets you push your completed video straight to YouTube. Whether you are cranking out quick marketing promos, internal training materials, or educational content, this direct pipeline significantly reduces manual effort and gets your work online faster.
Defaulting to Private
One of the immediate concerns with a one-click publish feature is accidentally pushing a rough draft or sensitive internal video to the public web. Thankfully, Google thought of that.
To maintain security and give you creative control, all videos exported from Google Vids to YouTube are initially set to Private. This acts as a great safety net, allowing you to hop over to YouTube Studio, review the content, add your final tags and descriptions, and consciously flip the visibility to Public or Unlisted when you are truly ready.
Who is getting it?
This isn’t just an enterprise perk. Direct YouTube export is available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as users with personal Google accounts.
The feature is already rolling out. Rapid Release domains started seeing it on March 31st, and Scheduled Release domains will begin their rollout on April 14th. If you haven’t taken Google Vids for a spin yet, this seamless YouTube integration is just one more reason to give it a try!
