When Google Vids first launched, it was positioned as a high-end, AI-powered storytelling tool for corporate environments. For many users on personal accounts or starter Workspace tiers, some of the most powerful features were locked behind a Pro paywall or limited-time promotions.

That is now changing. Google has announced that it is making three of its most essential Vids features available to all users, including those on personal Google accounts, Workspace Individual, and every tier of Education and Business Workspace.

By democratizing these tools, Google is ensuring that whether you are a student, a non-profit volunteer, or a personal creator, you have the same polished video production capabilities as an enterprise executive.

Three big features going wide

These aren’t just minor tweaks; they are the foundational tools that make Google Vids a legitimate competitor in the quick-form video space:

Featured Videos

  • Read-along teleprompter: No more memorizing scripts or looking awkwardly off-camera. The teleprompter automatically scrolls as you speak, allowing for a natural, eye-contact-heavy delivery during recordings.
  • Transcript trim: This is a game-changer for non-editors. Instead of fumbling with a timeline, you can edit your video like a text document. See a “um” or a long silence in the transcript? Just highlight and delete the text, and the video cuts itself.
  • Styled captions: We covered the launch of these back in January, but now they are available to everyone. These are dynamic, visually engaging captions that synchronize with your audio, making videos accessible and “social-media ready” right out of the box.

No more promotional anxiety

Previously, users on tiers like Business Starter, Enterprise Starter, and Education Plus were using these features as part of a temporary promotion. There was a looming deadline of May 2026 where these tools were set to vanish for those users.

This update removes that deadline entirely. Even after the promotional period ends in May, these three features will remain permanently available. Furthermore, this marks the first time users on Frontline and Education Fundamentals tiers have access to these tools at all.

Availability and Rollout

The best part is that for most users, there is nothing to enable. If you have access to Google Vids, these features will simply appear in your recording studio and editor by default.

  • Rapid Release domains: The full rollout started on February 2, 2026, so most should see it now.
  • Scheduled Release domains: The gradual rollout begins on February 20, 2026.
