I don’t want to put the cart before the horse on this one, but I really like the look of this new bumper case. Coming in four colors – clear, matte black, chrome, and rose gold – this second protective sleeve from Ringke comes alongside their currently-sold-out metal version and undercuts the price by a few dollars while also coming with two sleeves in each case.

While I still think the metal one will perhaps look a bit cleaner, these new bumper cases will be easier to install and should provide decent protection against the occasional door jamb or desk edge. Additionally, these bumpers don’t require any additional install steps aside from simply dropping the case onto the watch face and snapping it into place.
The bumpers are only 0.8mm thick and feature all the cutouts needed for use on a daily basis. This includes all microphone, speaker, and digital crown access as well as the ability to still use the wireless charging adapter with the bumper case attached and in place.
It is worth noting that we’ve not yet tried these cases and can’t yet vouch for the ease of installation or the actual look and feel when they are in place. From the photos, the cases look very slim and don’t seem to negatively affect the overall beautiful aesthetic of the Pixel Watch. But all of this needs to be evaluated in person, and until they begin shipping, there’s not much help we can provide on that front.
Additionally, these cases clearly don’t protect the screen, so be wary of that. For what it is worth, Ringke also sells a pack of screen protectors, but our initial attempts at simple stick-on screen guard installs have been very tough with the round nature of the Pixel Watch screen. I’ve yet to find the one’s I’m looking for, but a wet-apply screen protector with the ability to wrap around the edges would probably be your best bet once they do arrive.
For now, I’m ordering a set of these bumper cases and we’ll let you know how they work out once they arrive. If they look good to you, I’d wager you need to get your order in sooner rather than later as the metal version of this case sold out quite quickly. More will come, I’m sure, but Ringke makes solid products and if you’re looking for some solid protection for your Pixel Watch sooner rather than later, this could be a great fit.
