While much of the AI conversation has focused on consumer-facing tools, the race to transform the modern workplace is just as intense. Today, at a special “Gemini at Work” event, Google CEO Sundar Pichai officially unveiled the company’s next major step in that race: Gemini Enterprise.

Positioned as the “new front door for AI in the workplace,” this isn’t just another chatbot. It’s a comprehensive and deeply integrated platform designed to bring the full power of Google’s AI to every employee and every workflow.

More than just a chatbot

The core premise of Gemini Enterprise is that true business transformation requires more than a simple chatbot. To that end, Google has built an AI-powered conversational platform that is grounded in your company’s information and your personal context at work.

This allows Gemini Enterprise to go far beyond answering simple questions. It enables employees to chat with a company’s internal documents, data, and applications. It also provides the tools for businesses to build and deploy their own custom AI agents for specific, repetitive tasks, and it comes with a suite of pre-built agents to get started.

It’s a vision for a single, secure place where all of a company’s data, tools, and people can come together to leverage the power of AI.

The power of a full-stack approach

Pichai framed Gemini Enterprise as the culmination of Google’s “full-stack” approach to AI, which gives it a unique advantage. This new platform is the single entry point for organizations to access all of Google’s innovations, from its powerful, purpose-built infrastructure (like the upcoming Ironwood TPUs) and world-class research to its industry-leading foundation models like Gemini 2.5 Pro.

We’re already seeing the real-world impact of this approach with customers like HCA Healthcare, which is piloting a Gemini-powered solution to save millions of hours on nurse handoff reports, and at Google itself, where nearly half of all new code is now generated by AI.

Gemini Enterprise is a massive and ambitious new offering from Google Cloud. It’s a clear signal that Google is thinking beyond simple feature integrations and is instead building a foundational platform for the next generation of the AI-powered workplace.
