Android’s latest update brings ‘Find Hub’ luggage tracking, custom calling cards, and more

Google has officially pulled the curtain back on the March 2026 Android feature drop, and it is a doozy. While we usually see these updates focus on small UI tweaks, this release introduces some heavy-hitting utility: most notably a massive expansion of the Find My Device ecosystem (now branded as Find Hub) that aims to end the nightmare of lost airport luggage.

From real-time location sharing in your chats to Google Play Shorts in the Google Store, here is everything coming to your Android phone starting today.

‘Find Hub’ wants to save your lost luggage

The standout feature of this update is the evolution of Find Hub. Google is now allowing users to share the live location of a tracker tag directly with participating airlines. If your bag doesn’t make it to the carousel, you can generate a secure, temporary link from the Find Hub app and send it to the airline’s baggage recovery team. Here’s how it works:

  • Secure Sharing: You generate a unique URL in the Find Hub app.
  • Airlines on Board: Over 10 major global carriers (including Lufthansa, Air India, and Turkish Airlines) are already integrated into the system, with Qantas coming soon.
  • Privacy First: Links automatically expire after seven days, and sharing is instantly disabled the moment your phone detects the item is back in your possession.

Google also announced a partnership with Samsonite to embed Find Hub technology directly into their suitcases, so you won’t even need a separate tag to stay connected to your gear.

Location sharing comes to Google Messages

We’ve all had those “Where are you?” text threads that go on forever. Google is fixing this by integrating location sharing directly into Google Messages. Powered by Find Hub, you can now share your real-time location on a map view without ever leaving the conversation. It’s flexible, too, so you can set it for a specific window of time and stop sharing whenever you like.

Custom Calling Cards

In a move that feels very much like the Contact Posters on iOS, Android is introducing Calling Cards. You can now design a custom ID that people see when you call them, choosing your own photo, font, and colors. You can choose to share this with everyone or just your saved contacts, giving your outgoing calls a much more personal (and recognizable) touch.

Google Play Shorts and Teacher-Approved games

Google is also changing how we discover content. Google Play Shorts are coming to the Play Store, offering a feed of bite-sized videos that show you how an app actually works before you hit download.

And for those who spend time waiting in the car, Android Auto is getting a library of Teacher-Approved kids’ games. Aimed at ages 3-12, the lineup includes titles like Disney Coloring World and Marvel HQ, turning parked time into an educational play session for the kids.

A fresh batch of Emoji Kitchen stickers

It wouldn’t be an Android update without some fun in Gboard. The Emoji Kitchen is getting new combinations, including the “cheesy gesture” (Cheese + Rose) and the “funky skunk” (Saxophone + Skunk).

These features are rolling out starting today, March 3, 2026. If you’re a Pixel user, keep an eye out for additional Pixel-exclusive features landing alongside this update. You can check for the latest updates by heading to android.com/updates.
