We know that Android Nougat will be an integral part of bringing the Play Store to Chrome OS and removing the long-branded “Beta” label.
We have caught glimpses here and there of devices running Android 7.1.1 but with the latest updates to the Beta and Stable channels of Chrome OS, it appears that Nougat is headed our way quicker than ever.
Reports have been rolling in of devices previously without Android apps now having access to the Play Store. Many of these Chromebooks are now also rocking Android Nougat.
Here are the ones we are currently aware of and the channel Nougat can be found:
- Google Pixel (2015) Beta
- Acer Chromebook 14 Beta
- Dell Chromebook 13 (7310) Beta
- Lenovo Chromebook Flex 11 Stable
- Samsung Chromebook Pro Stable
- Acer Chromebook R13 Stable
- Samsung Chromebook Plus Beta
This list is likely very incomplete as we have seen many more devices with Nougat in the Developer channel via various methods.
Here’s where we can use your help. If you have recently had an update and your Chromebook has access to the Play Store, drop a comment below if you’re now running Android 7.1.1. We will do our very best to keep this list up-to-date as we hear from you.
So many new devices with the Play Store and Android N is spreading. I don’t think we will be waiting much longer to see the list of “planned” devices be completed.
