Walmart appears to be gearing up to release their latest budget-friendly streaming device, the Onn Google TV 4K Plus. This very compelling Chromecast alternative was spotted earlier this year, and has just recently been listed on Walmart’s website at a very attractive price point of just $29.88.
This pricing undercuts the previous cost of the now-discontinued Chromecast with Google TV (4K) by approximately $20, positioning the Onn 4K Plus as a highly competitive option for consumers seeking a capable streaming solution without breaking the bank.
Beyond its affordability, the Onn 4K Plus is also looking to address a key limitation of Google’s Chromecast with Google TV: storage capacity. Walmart’s listing indicates that the device will feature 16GB of internal storage, a significant upgrade that should alleviate concerns about running out of space for apps and downloaded content.

The specifications also point to a “quad-core processor” for smooth performance and support for Wi-Fi 6 for a stable and fast wireless connection for streaming high-res content. Furthermore, an image included in the listing showcases the Google Home Panel, and that comes as no surprise with how clean the previous Onn Google TV streamers have been from the software side of things.
Similar to the Onn 4K Pro released last year, the new Plus model includes a remote with a dedicated “Free TV” button that gives users quick access to ad-supported streaming services. The listing further confirms the inclusion of 2GB of RAM, along with support for both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, so it looks like all your streaming boxes are checked with this device that is set to be available for less than $30 all day, every day.
While an official launch date is still forthcoming, the arrival of the Onn 4K Plus listing on Walmart’s website suggests that its release will happen any day now (that’s why we went ahead a put a link up there for you). Walmart has no real playbook when it comes to launching these types of devices, so you may have luck checking your local Walmart store for inventory, too. There’s a really good chance you’ll find one there waiting for you.
And if you’re a fan of Walmart’s affordable streamers, you should definitely make sure to enter our Onn. 4K Pro giveaway. We’re picking two lucky winners to receive one of these fantastic streamers completely free, and you don’t want to miss out on this one.
