As it happens each Memorial Day, there are some pretty substantial deals to be had on some awesome hardware for the weekend and into Monday. For those of you shopping for a new Chromebook, you are in a very good buying position as we have 3 of the best Chromebook deals I’ve seen in quite some time all vying for your hard-earned cash. Each of these devices offer something pretty unique, and each one is on a massive sale for at least the next couple of days.
ASUS ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus
First up, we have easily one of the best, most-outfitted Chromebooks you can buy right now in the ASUS CX54 Chromebook Plus. It has just about everything you could ask for in a high-end Chromebook, including a 120Hz 500 nit 16:10 14-inch QHD touchscreen, backlit keys, tons of ports, all-metal build, fingerprint scanner, solid speakers, and massive internals. The Core 5 Ultra, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of NVMe storage mean you’ll have all the hardware overhead you’ll need for a very long time.
Best Buy just recently started stocking this version with the updated internals and touchscreen included, and with the current $170 discount, this Chromebook is an absolute beast for the asking price.
Acer Chromebook Plus 516 GE
Easily, the Acer Chromebook Plus 516 GE slots itself into the category of favorite all-time Chromebooks. I love the massive screen without the massive weight (it’s only 3.75 pounds) and though it doesn’t come equipped with a touchscreen, this device nails so many parts of the premium Chromebook experience that I simply love using it.
That aforementioned screen is a delight at 16-inches and with a 16:10 aspect ratio. At 120Hz and 350 nits, I love doing just about anything on this screen from working to watching to playing. Throw in a massive port selection that includes a dedicated Ethernet port and you have a device that is an absolute gem to use at the desk or on the go. And right now, it’s a massive $200 off!
Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5
Finally, we have the device that made me believe in Chromebook tablets. It’s on in age a bit, but the Duet 5 is still plenty performant for most tasks, is built incredibly well, and gives you a more laptop-like experience when docked than any other Chromebook tablet available.
Sure, we’re hoping for some new tablets that will eventually utilize the upcoming MediaTek Kompanio Ultra (or the yet-unnamed MT8189), but for now, it’s really a question between extra screen size on the Duet 5 or a bit more horsepower and newer build in the Duet 11-inch. At $200 off right now, however, the choice feels pretty clear.
