If you’ve been checking your Pixel’s At a Glance widget lately and scratching your head at the inaccurate weather forecasts, you’re not alone. Google has acknowledged an issue causing outdated weather data to display on the widget and has confirmed they’re rolling out a fix.
Reports of the problem surfaced on Reddit and Google’s support forums, as reported by Android Police, with users noting that while the current temperature displayed was often accurate, the forecasted high and low temperatures were consistently incorrect. One user pointed out that the weather app itself displayed accurate forecasts, indicating the issue was isolated to the At a Glance widget. Another described their Pixel 8A’s lock screen showing yesterday’s forecast as today’s and today’s as tomorrow’s.
In a statement to The Verge, a Google spokesperson confirmed that “we’re currently rolling out a fix for an issue causing outdated weather forecasts on the At a Glance widget for some Pixel users.”
This weather glitch serves as a reminder of the inherent complexities in delivering accurate, real-time data. And, let’s be honest, it’s those moments when a feature stops working that you truly appreciate its everyday usefulness! Thankfully, Google’s quick response means Pixel users can soon rely on the At a Glance widget for accurate forecasts once again. Drop a comment below if you ran into this issue, and let us know when the fix hits your device!
