Pixel 10 “Sneak Preview” scheduled for late June, hints at earlier release date

Just the dust from Google I/O 2025 started settling, a new nugget of information has surfaced that finally gives us some hardware (not AI) related news. According to a report from Android Authority, an invite sent out to members of the Google Pixel Superfans program is hinting at a “sneak preview of our upcoming devices” scheduled for June 27th in London. And while Google doesn’t explicitly say “Pixel 10” in the invitation, the timing and context strongly suggest we could be getting a very early look at the next generation of Pixel phones.

For years, Google held its main Pixel hardware events in October. That shifted significantly last year when the Pixel 9 series was moved up to an August launch. Now, this Superfans “Pixel Penthouse” event on June 27th – for which only 25 attendees will be selected – could point to Google advancing its flagship phone timeline even further – or at least offering a very early teaser.

An earlier arrival for Pixel 10?

Android Authority speculates that this could set the stage for a Pixel 10 debut much earlier than the already adjusted August window, possibly in late June or early July. This pattern of earlier releases isn’t entirely out of character for Google lately. We saw Android 16 previews arrive sooner than its predecessor, and the Pixel 9a launched in March, a full two months ahead of the Pixel 8a’s debut the previous year. Google even separated its core Android announcements from the main I/O keynote this year to give AI and mixed reality more spotlight.

It’s also worth remembering that Google has provided early hardware sneak peeks before. For instance, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro were shown off at Google I/O 2022 in May, well ahead of their fall launch. This June 27th event could be a similar “super early look” for dedicated Pixel enthusiasts.

While it’s still possible Google has something else up its sleeve for this “upcoming devices” preview, given the momentum of Google shifting its release schedules and the general lack of other major hardware rumors for an imminent release, the Pixel 10 series certainly feels like the most probable candidate for this early reveal.

Whether this “sneak preview” translates to an immediate full launch in late June/early July or if it’s just a very early teaser ahead of a later (perhaps still August) release remains to be seen. But for Pixel fans, June 27th is now a date to circle on the calendar. We’ll definitely be watching for any more concrete details to emerge as we get closer!
