Shop Razer Hammerhead Earbuds and more over at our 2019 Holiday Gift Guide - https://chrmshop.com/
・・・・・・・
Over the past year or so, I've somehow turned my buying/returning attention to headphones. Without realizing it, I noticed 4 sets of wireless earbuds on my shelf and I thought to myself, "How did this happen?" I suppose it applies to nearly anything with me, but I'm always in search of that one thing that can do the best at being utilitarian: great at most things even if not the best at anything. Razer's new wireless earbuds have impressed me and if you are a fan of the AirPod style of earbud and don’t want to spend a fortune on a great wireless headphone experience, I think the Razer Hammerheads deserve a look.

here's the thing I started chrome one
0:02
box because I was kind of a tech head
0:03
and my behavior went from buying phones
0:07
all the time to buying lots of
0:09
Chromebooks all the time and since we've
0:11
started Chrome one box I didn't stop
0:12
buying Chromebooks but I've now started
0:14
buying another accessory and that
0:17
happens to be wireless earbuds and until
0:21
I happened upon actually buying and
0:23
using the Apple earpods for the first
0:25
time I wasn't even really bought and
0:27
sold on earbuds I bought different
0:29
headphones in general but I really liked
0:32
the portability of these I like the ease
0:33
of use and how quickly I could get them
0:35
out and put them in and just have music
0:37
playing quickly and so it began kind of
0:40
this journey of trying all these
0:41
different headphones to use with my
0:44
phone and all these various ways and so
0:46
I want to go through with you why I've
0:47
kind of ditched my ear pods and moved on
0:50
to these the Razer hammerhead truly
0:53
wireless earbuds

1:01
what ultimately led me to pick up the
1:04
hammer heads from Razer was the promise
1:06
of low latency but that's not the only
1:08
thing they do well and that's not the
1:09
only thing that's really important to me
1:11
ultimately with wireless earbuds in
1:13
general as I've tried quite a few of
1:15
them honestly I embarrassed even say how
1:17
many I've gone through and what I found
1:19
that I really desire from a good
1:21
Wireless earbud is a handful of things
1:23
one it needs to be portable like the
1:25
case and everything it goes in should be
1:27
small enough to drop into my pocket
1:28
that's super important in all this cuz I
1:30
kind of this sound quality and that can
1:32
be affected by a number of things the
1:34
drivers in the earbuds the way that
1:36
they're made the way that they're shaped
1:37
whether they're kind of the open ear
1:39
ones or the ones with the tips on them I
1:41
kind of prefer the air pod method and
1:43
that doesn't work for everybody because
1:45
not everybody's ear shaped the same and
1:46
so you'll know if ear pods work for you
1:49
the the Razer earbuds would work for you
1:51
too they're shaped very similarly the
1:53
reason I like them is I can drop them in
1:54
my ear and not be completely cut off
1:56
from the outside world I like a little
1:58
bit of ambient sound so I like the Razer
2:01
earbuds more than the air pods because I
2:03
feel like their sound quality is just
2:05
better the bass is better the trebles
2:06
better the soundstage sounds better and
2:08
I really actually enjoy listening to
2:10
music quite a bit more and obviously
2:12
gaming and video and all that other kind
2:14
of stuff on the Razer earbuds
2:16
the final part that I figured out was
2:17
important to me was latency and in
2:20
general it seems like anything with
2:22
Bluetooth 5.0 has no issue with this and
2:24
quite a few that I tried with 4.0
2:26
doesn't really have too many issues with
2:28
latency when you're watching video so
2:31
whether you're watching YouTube or some
2:32
sort of video like on Amazon movies or
2:34
something that's actually local on your
2:36
device I just didn't have any issue that
2:37
because there can be some buffering
2:39
there between the Bluetooth and the
2:40
video that can kind of get it synched up
2:41
and you can watch it no big deal the
2:43
problem comes when you're trying to do
2:45
something like gaming so I'm playing
2:46
pubs your Call of Duty mobile the minute
2:49
I hit that fire button I want to hear
2:50
the gun I want to see the thing happen
2:52
on screen as soon as I hit it if I'm
2:54
playing anything where there's jumping
2:55
involved or something like that if you
2:57
hear those sounds after the button is
2:59
pressed and after you see the thing
3:00
happened on the screen it's just kind of
3:02
off-putting and it can kind of mess with
3:04
your gaming experience and so I began
3:06
the hunt for finding something that I
3:07
could play wirelessly with earbuds and
3:10
actually not have to do
3:12
any latency in all fairness the earpods
3:15
do that just fine with iOS so if you've
3:17
paired this up with an iPad or an iPhone
3:19
latency is pretty much gone I started
3:22
getting used to that but I wanted a set
3:23
of earbuds that I could use on an iPad
3:26
or a Chromebook or an Android phone and
3:29
get that same latency free experience
3:31
and the air pods aren't edie I can't get
3:33
latency free gaming on my Chromebook I
3:35
can't get latency free gaming on my
3:37
pixel device it was only with the iPad
3:39
and so when the racers came along and
3:41
said they could offer latency free
3:43
gaming with these earbuds I had to try
3:46
them out and I've gotten them in and
3:47
that was the reason I bought them and
3:49
they deliver when you put them in gaming
3:51
mode they deliver that latency free
3:52
experience whether I'm on my phone on my
3:54
Chromebook playing stadia games or
3:56
playing Amrit games it delivers on my
3:58
iPad across the spectrum these earbuds
4:01
deliver latency free gaming and they do
4:03
it really well once I figured out all of
4:06
those things are important to me I had
4:08
these alongside have multiple other
4:10
earbuds all at the same time and kept
4:12
kind of going back and forth between
4:13
them all and the racers kept being the
4:15
ones I wanted to go back to mainly
4:18
because again they sound really good no
4:20
they're not sound isolating and so
4:22
that's the one feature that they do miss
4:23
but the latency free performance the
4:26
sound quality that they have the
4:28
smallness of the case and the ease that
4:29
I can just drop in my ears and I have to
4:31
worry about getting a proper seal and
4:33
all that kind of stuff it just made
4:34
going to them the the easy pick honestly
4:37
and I've stopped carrying the ear pods
4:39
around in my pocket they actually stay
4:41
in my bag and I haven't really cracked
4:43
them up and use them for anything since
4:44
I've had these because they fit very
4:46
similar and they fill the same kind of
4:49
void that the ear pods left except I can
4:51
just use them on any device that I want
4:52
to connect to and get all the benefits
4:54
that I see in any of the other devices
4:57
we can't talk about wireless earbuds
4:59
without talking about battery life and
5:00
these are no standout really probably
5:02
about three to four hours you're gonna
5:03
get off of the charge so just continuous
5:06
use for 3-4 hours and then they get in
5:08
an additional 12 hours from the charging
5:10
case but another benefit these have USB
5:12
type-c charging I have USBC Chargers
5:14
everywhere so it's very nice not to have
5:16
to go dig up a lightning cable to charge
5:18
your earbuds so that has been a benefit
5:20
as well
5:20
controlling media with your earbuds is
5:22
also important and these thankfully have
5:24
capacity
5:25
on both sides where you can tap and do
5:28
different things so you can play pause
5:29
your music you can call up your
5:31
assistant whichever assistant it is
5:32
you're using on your phone you can skip
5:36
forward you can skip back and then you
5:37
can enter gaming mode with just a series
5:39
of taps and so you can long press again
5:43
for the your assistant you can long
5:45
press a little shorter to play pause you
5:47
can double tap to skip triple tap to go
5:49
back and then you triple tap and hold
5:51
which sounds complicated but once you
5:52
get used to it really isn't to turn on
5:55
gaming mode you'd have to do that every
5:56
time you open them up because it's not
5:58
gonna default to that because my guess
5:59
is it heats up a little bit more battery
6:01
when you're in that mode in general
6:02
these earbuds just deliver everything I
6:05
could want from an earbud and so as I
6:07
went through all of these different ones
6:08
we were even gonna do a video maybe
6:10
comparing a bunch to the others but I
6:12
like these so much more than all the
6:15
other earbuds I honestly just returned
6:16
them and I've kept these and they stay
6:18
in my pocket they're part of the things
6:20
that I carry around every single day I
6:22
like having them on me anytime I need
6:24
wireless audio I just pop these things
6:26
out the case pop them in and they're
6:27
hooked up to all my stuff and I can just
6:29
jump in and listen to whatever audio or
6:30
play a game and not have to worry about
6:32
latency not have to worry about sound
6:34
quality not have to worry about battery
6:35
all that kind of stuff so highly
6:37
recommend these things we're gonna link
6:39
them obviously down in the description
6:40
if you're interested in picking some of
6:42
them up and I haven't talked about the
6:43
price yet when I bought them I actually
6:45
got a little 10% off coupon when they
6:47
first came out I got these things for
6:48
$90 and so I think they run $100
6:51
normally and you can find them on sale
6:52
all over the place that's another
6:54
benefit here they're way cheaper than
6:56
most of your wireless earbuds and they
6:58
have all kinds of features built in so
7:00
it's just to me it feels like an easy
7:02
Buy and the only thing sway me from
7:05
buying them immediately I had to think
7:07
for just a minute is the upcoming pixel
7:10
buds and the intrigue that they have
7:12
over me because I think they're gonna do
7:13
a lot of the same stuff and probably a
7:16
little bit better sure they're gonna be
7:17
a little bit more expensive but man
7:19
those things look like really amazing
7:21
ear buds too so I don't want to discount
7:23
or say that I'm not going to pick those
7:24
up when they come out because they look
7:25
amazing for the time being it may be a
7:27
few more months maybe three four months
7:28
before we see those pixel buzz these are
7:31
absolutely my go-to wireless earbuds for
7:33
my Chromebook for my phone for my iPad
7:36
for anything I need to
7:38
do any kind of media on because frankly
7:41
they just do everything the best but
7:43
guys that's been it for this one
