Nano Banana Pro (officially “Gemini 3 Pro Image”) has officially launched, and it brings some massive upgrades that turn this from a fun experiment into a genuine design tool.
The biggest headache with AI images has always been text. You ask for a sign that says “Coffee,” and you get “Cffoee.” Nano Banana Pro fixes this. Thanks to the reasoning capabilities of Gemini 3, it offers state-of-the-art text rendering in multiple languages.
Google showed off examples of everything from complex infographics to retro typography posters, and the text is crisp, legible, and actually spelled correctly.
“Consistency” is the killer feature
If you’ve ever tried to make a storyboard or a comic with AI, you know the struggle: your character looks totally different in every frame.
Nano Banana Pro introduces a new consistency engine that can maintain the resemblance of up to 5 people across different shots and blend up to 14 reference images into a single scene. This means you can actually build a coherent visual story without your main character shape-shifting every time you generate a new image.
Where can you use it?
Google is rolling this out everywhere starting today:
- Gemini App: It’s rolling out globally now. Look for the “Thinking” model option when creating images.
- Workspace: It’s coming to Google Slides and Google Vids for easy asset creation.
- For Developers: It’s available in AI Studio and the new “Antigravity” platform.
A note on Watermarks
Google is sticking to its guns on safety. All images will have the invisible SynthID watermark.
- Free & Pro Users: You will still see a visible “Gemini sparkle” watermark on your images.
- Ultra Subscribers: If you pay for the top-tier Google AI Ultra plan, the visible watermark is removed, giving you a clean canvas for professional work.
