THE SAMSUNG GALAXY CHROMEBOOK 2
A MORE AFFORDABLE GALAXY CHROMEBOOK
Samsung has announced a new addition to the Galaxy Chromebook lineup, taking the formula from the original that was released at CES last year and cutting a few corners to make the starting price far, far lower than its predecessor.

SPECS
GREAT ADDITIONS
QLED 1080P SCREEN
While the drop to 1080p may sound bad, it actually will drastically help battery life and QLED is both bright and colorful
SPEAKERS
Samsung is taking great pride in touting the improved speakers and amplification, so we're hoping for great things from the overall sound.
+
WHAT'S LACKING
SLOWER PROCESSORS
Along with a lower resolution screen, we're getting slower Core i3 and Celeron processors this time
FINGERPRINT SCANNER
Another pretty glaring omission is the lack of the fingerprint scanner from the original Galaxy Chromebook.
-
STOWED STYLUS
Yes, we have USI pen input, but no, there is no pen in the box and no internal place to store your writing utensil.
WHAT ABOUT BUILD QUALITY?
One thing we cannot deny is how good the overall build quality felt on the original Samsung Galaxy Chromebook. It was premium all the way. With cost-cutting measures in place, will the nearly all-aluminum build of the Galaxy Chromebook 2 still pull off the high-end feel with a not-so-high-end price tag?

SO, WHAT'S THE DAMAGE??

Celeron/4GB/64GB

IS THE GALAXY CHROMEBOOK 2 WORTH IT?
That will likely only be answered once we have a review unit and can determine if the trade-off are wortht the overall savings. Samsung is after a different price bracket with the Galaxy Chromebook 2 and if the experience of using it is great, the price point could be right in line with what consumers expect. We'll see!
