It’s Monday and you know what that means. New week, new Chromebook deals. This week, I have some solid deals on a few of the usual suspects and a steep discount on a quasi-premium convertible with plenty of curb appeal. Whether you’re looking for a premium convertible for getting some work done or a formidable gaming Chromebook, there’s a little something for everyone on today’s list.
I started doing a monthly deal roundup a while back to highlight the biggest and best discounts at the beginning of each month. Problem is, that the deals change so frequently that the monthly roundup often overlooked some of the BEST deals that just happened to drop later in the month. For that reason, we are now going to bring you a weekly(perhaps bi-weekly) roundup of the best ChromeOS deals around. Here, you’ll find my top five picks of the week but you can still count on more deals throughout the month as they arrive. So, without further ado, here are my top five Chromebook deals for March 27, 2023.
Acer Chromebook Spin 714
On the list once again, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is enjoying another hefty discount over at Best Buy. The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 features a powerful 12th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a crispy 14-inch 16:10 display that’s an absolute joy to use. The 14-inch convertible has an aluminum chassis, backlit keyboard, plenty of ports and a rechargeable garaged USI stylus. It’s pretty much the total package and retails for the solid price of $729. However, you can score this powerful, premium Chromebook for only $499 which is an absolute steal.
Acer Chromebook 516 GE
One of the first-ever Chromebooks built with cloud gaming in mind, the Acer Chromebook 516 GB features a powerful 12th Gen Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Along with the horsepower, the Acer is equipped with a game-centric customizable RGB keyboard and a 120Hz, 350 nit display that’s perfect for playing your favorite titles on GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Xbox cloud, and Boosteroid. Even if you aren’t into gaming, this powerful clamshell isn’t gaudy and you could easily make it your daily driver for work or play. Normally $649, the Acer Chromebook 516 GE has been knocked down to $549, a respectable $100 discount on a powerful and unique Chromebook.
ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX5 Flip
If you prefer an ASUS device or you’re looking for a convertible, the Chromebook Vibe CX5 is where it’s at. Rocking an 11th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and ups the ante with a 144Hz display. You won’t get the RGB keyboard and yes, this is the same chassis as the ASUS CM5 but that doesn’t retract from its build quality or its raw power. If you want a larger, 15.6″ convertible with plenty of options, this one is a solid choice and like the Acer 516 GE, the Vibe has been discounted by $100 bringing the price down to a very affordable $599.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2
While not quite as premium as the original Galaxy Chromebook, Galaxy Chromebook 2 made some much-needed improvements on its predecessor by fixing the battery life issues and other hardware bugs that plague the original Galaxy. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 forgoes a stowed stylus and the AMOLED display but the trade offs get you solid convertible that’s capable of handling a decent workload. It doesn’t hurt that the Galaxy Chromebook 2 retains that flashy Fiesta Red colorway which allows it to stand out in a crowd. Right now, you can get as much as $150 off of the Core i3 version of the Galaxy Chromebook 2 when you pick one up at Best Buy.
ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5601
Last but not least, we have a 16-inch convertible from ASUS. The Chromebook Flip CX5601 isn’t the most premium device out there but it offers up a powerful 12th Gen Intel Core i3 and plenty of features to warrant a premium-ish price tag. For some odd reason, ASUS left out a backlit keyboard but you still get 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a well-built convertible that’s a solid choice when it’s on sale. Right now, you can pick up the ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5601 for $449. At that price, it’s worth every penny.
