We’ve stumbled across a commit in the Chromium repositories that signaled continuing work on a much-needed Chrome OS feature: split-screen apps in tablet mode. Along with apps running in the background for Chromebooks, this simple feature isn’t just a desired attribute: it is expected.
More convertible Chromebooks means more time spent in tablet mode. One thing that’s been a bit of an issue up to this point is taking screenshots while in that mode.
We’ve said it before, but it bears repeating; Google is going all-in on the Pixelbook. Gone are the days of nascent advertising and scant mentions for Google’s own Chromebooks. Instead, we’re now in the time of #madebyGoogle and all the marketing, focus, and exposure that goes along with it.
