Mafia I, II, and III definitive editions, collectively known as the Mafia Trilogy have all been rated for release on Stadia via PEGI (see below). They were all previously rated back in May on ESRB, but shortly after, they were said to have been delayed until further notice. The trilogy was also the victim of a “logo gate” situation where people were pasting a Stadia logo on screenshots of the end of the trailer and pretending that they were coming to the platform before it was even confirmed.
Take-Two Interactive previously stated that they have intentions on releasing 93 new games between now and 2025 with many of those titles headed to Stadia and mobile. With the Mafia Trilogy officially headed to Google’s cloud gaming platform, this could very well be the start of Take-Two’s plans coming to fruition, which is very exciting. The trio of games will likely sell on the store as individual titles as well as in a bundle, but we won’t know for sure until it releases.
The PEGI ratings list that the games would be released two days ago on Stadia, but they’re currently not in the Stadia Store. This could instead just be the date they were rated, which would be accurate, though the title above it lists ‘Release Dates & Platforms’, which is misleading. Either way, this could very well mean we may be playing all three games within a few days! If nothing else, they may drop before the year’s end and at the latest, the Stadia team may hold these for release at the beginning of the year due to the platform’s packed end of year schedule.
