Look, I’ve been very hard on the Pixel Buds, given that my own experience with them has been less than stellar, but that doesn’t mean that they’re bad earbuds. Perhaps I just got a bad pair…several times. The main issue has been the severe audio cut-outs that have, admittedly, been fixed for the most part with several recent updates. I still experience problems a handful of times per week, but I do go further stretches without any as of late and I think that’s worth mentioning – credit where credit is due, right?
Either way, as I continue to complain about my defective Pixel Buds, many of you have come to their defense, stating that they are the best earbuds you’ve ever used and that you’ve had no issues whatsoever. They do have a gorgeous hardware design and I love their case more than I have time to gush about, so I’m inclined to agree that outside of a handful of situations that I happened to be a part of, they’ve met most people’s expectations. If you think they’re worth a try, then you can actually pick them up right now on the Google Store for $20 off, which brings them down to just $159!
Being able to press and hold the right earbud to talk to Google Assistant and make your Star Trek dreams come true for under two-hundred bucks is a nice way to spend Christmas. You can snag a pair in four different colors – Clearly White, Oh So Orange, Quite Mint, and Almost Black. This deal was supposed to last only until yesterday – Sunday, December 13, 2020 – but Google has extended it until the 17th, so you’ve got three days to mull it over or at least until supplies run out, which could be even sooner (we’re looking at you, Oh So Orange).
I may be seeing the world through Google-tinted ‘Glass‘, but I might throw another pair into my shopping cart and trying them once more to see if my experience improves, though I do wish they would just send me a replacement pair for all the trouble I’ve had. I’m not exactly a glass is half empty kind of guy. I like to think that that half of the glass is full of air. Honestly though, at this price, it’s a bit hard to pass up and I think that since they fit perfectly into a stocking, it’s worth consideration.
If you order now, you’ll receive them between December 30-31, since Google is offering free 2-day priority shipping using coupon code ‘HOLIDAY2DAY’ which will be automatically applied to your cart upon checkout and stacks with the $20 discount. You can opt for Expedited shipping and get them just in time to put them under the Christmas tree, but if you do, you’ll be giving back all of your savings! It’s up to you, but I would advise that you pick Standard shipping and tell your loved ones that Santa got stuck in a traffic jam.
