After a brief, four-year hiatus, Momo the Cat is back for another round of shape-swiping fun as Google’s Halloween Doodle game returns to Google.com. The original Doodle game began as an offshoot of the 2015 Halloween Doodle Candy Cup that featured the “Yellow Witch” and her black cat Momo. In 2016, Momo returned as the star of her own Doodle game whose mission was to restore peace at the Magic Cat Academy.
The game included five levels in which you used your mouse or touchscreen to swipe specific patterns in an attempt to dispel the ghostly adversaries attacking your Academy. This year’s sequel brings new levels and new friends that need Momo’s swift swiping skills. With each new level, more ghosts appear and the patterns become more complex and magical. This may seem like fun and games but I didn’t point out the fact that Momo the Cat is doing all of this while underwater and we all know how much cats despise getting wet.
Halloween looks a lot different this year because 2020 has just conceded to being the black sheep of the century but that doesn’t mean that you can sit back and have a little holiday fun while your kids go trick or treating virtually. (However that works.) To check out Momo the Cat and help save the Magic Cat Academy, just head over to Google.com and click that play button. It’s entertaining and who doesn’t need a little distraction from the new normal. Have fun and stay safe out there.
