Yesterday’s release of Chrome OS 60 brought some great enhancements and a few new features to many Chromebooks. Unfortunately, we are still in a holding pattern for a full-scale roll-out of the Play Store and Android Apps for Chrome OS.
One device did sneak its way onto the official support list this week. The HP Chromebook x360 11 EE is Hewlett Packards latest iteration of its 11.6″ educational devices. The Apollo Lake-powered convertible was announced around the same time as similar offerings from ASUS and Acer but seems to have beaten other manufacturers to the punch in terms of availability.
The developers official Android Support Page updated yesterday and brought the HP x360 to the list of devices that have access to the Play Store in the Stable channel. If you happen to be one of the few people that may have gotten your hands on one of these Chromebooks, the update to Chrome OS 60 should present you with a prompt to install Android Apps.
