We often browse Reddit’s sub-communities for mobile games that we think you may all find interesting. Today, we stumbled upon a unique game called Gogogo! which was made by a single developer who identifies himself as ‘Studiosaurus’ of the course of the last 2 years. It’s a game focused on bringing you fun similar to the Jack Box Party games during this quarantine lockdown craziness.
It’s described by the developer as a tournament of champions style game which only requires one phone and no internet connection to play. You can play with as little as 3 people and as many as 16. It has 50 quirky mini-games with many updates and additions to come. Some of the games include testing your reaction time, precision, sense of humor, memory, creativity and more. There’s a game where you hide your phone somewhere in the house and your fellow quarantinees must locate it as it makes quacking sounds. Another asks you to try to keep on your balance as your phone’s gyrometer keeps track.
Gogogo! is easy to pick up and play and has several difficulty settings which can be customized to omit the games you and your family don’t want to play. My favorite thing about the game is its animations. They’re very well done and it sounds like the developer did all of the noises on his own with his mouth, which makes it even more entertaining.
Some of the mini-games have enough content to warrant their own full boardgame and the game will be updated often. I have no doubt of this as the creator was most likely able to finish creating the game due to the extra time at home. You can play the first 20 games for free with the ability to unlock the last 30 games for just under $4 USD. Do it. I promise it’s worth it.
Honestly, after playing this all evening with my son and girlfriend, I wish more games like it existed. Even the intro song and animation and the start screen are just extremely creative and funny. Seeing someone use this platform to create something more timely and useful than yet another standard Korean gatcha RPG is refreshing and I can confidently say that this is going to remain installed on my phone for the foreseeable future!
Let us know in the comments if you pick this one up and if it’s transformed your family time at home during all of this ongoing societal craziness.
