Chromebook gamers know how convenient it is to play GeForce NOW straight through their web browser ever since the company pledged support for Google’s OS a few months ago. Instead of having to download the GeForce NOW application as you do with Windows and Mac, you can just visit a URL and click ‘Play’ on the games you’ve added to your library. While this feature is exclusive to Chrome OS, a new extension makes it possible to play this way on other operating systems too!
Previously, we shared with you how to use a User Agent-Switcher extension in order to trick your browser into thinking it’s another one, but the GeForce NOW Unlocker extension from the Chrome web store makes this even more user friendly. It’s literally doing the same thing, but without forcing the user to create their own user agent information because the process is automated instead. Simply install the extension on your Mac or Windows computer via the Chrome browser and visit the GeForce NOW web app to start playing!
It doesn’t really make sense to me that GeForce NOW isn’t exclusively a web application, but hopefully these two extensions ‘GeForce’ the company to reconsider how they deliver their services. For those of us using something other than our Chromebook from time to time, it’s nice to see that we can play our Steam and Epic Games libraries via Nvidia with the same convenience as we play Stadia – truly in the cloud.
