With the average screen size of a Chromebook just over 13″, real estate is a hot commodity when it comes to stuff hogging space on your display.
A Google+ post, from none other than François Beaufort, reports a recent update to the Developer channel of Chrome OS that adds a scrollbar overlay feature with just that in mind. The feature isn’t new. But, until now, it required enabling an experimental flag. Now, it appears, the addition may be set to make its way up through the ranks to the Stable channel.
It’s a bit difficult to see in the image above, but the traditional sidebars have been replaced with very narrow overlays that only appear when scrolling. This addition may seem minuscule but it is another one of those seemingly insignificant tweaks that creates a richer work-flow for Chrome OS users.
