If you’re simply looking for a cheap Chromebook that isn’t ancient and an absolute hunk of trash, Amazon has a deal that may be of interest to you. For $250, you could probably run down to your local Walmart and find an Acer Chromebook 15 with a FullHD display but that will likely be its only redeeming quality apart from the upward-firing speakers. If you’re lucky, it will have a dual-core Apollo Lake processor. If you’re not so lucky, it will have an aging Braswell chipset and be swiftly approaching its end of life.
If you want something a little newer and quite a bit more powerful, look no further than the Samsung Chromebook 4+. Powered by the Intel Gemini Lake N4000 processor, the Samsung 4+ boasts performance that is somewhere in the realm of 40%-50% better than its Apollo Lake predecessor. The 15.6″ display offers up 1080P, Full HD resolution and Samsung says that you can squeeze up to 12.5 hours of battery life out of this monster. The mile may vary but still, if it will get you 10, it’s a champ in my book.
Samsung Chromebook 4+ specs

- Intel N4000 dual-core Gemini Lake processor
- 4GB RAM DDR4
- 64GB eMMC storage
- 15.6″ FullHD display 1920×1080
- Gigabit wifi
- 2 x USB-C, 1 x USB-A, MicroSD and 3.5mm audio jack
- AUE date June 2026
There are a number of configurations of the Chromebook 4+ out there but Amazon seems to have the only version that offers a pairing of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Normally priced at $319.99, they’ve knocked $50 off of the price which makes this one of the best 15.6″ devices around the $250 mark. If smaller is more your style, Amazon has taken $40 off of the 11.6″ Chromebook 4 and it can be had for the low price of $210 with the same internals.
This Chromebook isn’t the best pick for anyone who considers themselves a power user but for the casual web-surfer and social media digester, this thing is perfect. For less than $300, you can get your hands on a Chromebook that looks pretty sharp and will get guaranteed updates through June of 2026. That’s a strong value for any PC if you ask me. Anyway, if you’ve been eyeing the Samsung Chromebook 4 or 4+, you can learn more and check out the deal at The Chrome Shop by heading over to the link below.
