Just yesterday we reported on a bug that was having a pretty negative effect on the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Pro trackpad.
That bug, for those unaware, was causing the trackpad to behave quite oddly, registering swipes and gestures from 1-2mm above the trackpad surface.
This caused some seriously erratic behavior and made the entire experience seriously frustrating all around.

The Fix Is Here
As we also said yesterday, this issue was a software-related one and was already being worked on.
This evening, an update appeared for my Chromebook Plus and, after taking it, the trackpad is behaving perfectly!
This update to Stable Channel Version 56.0.2924.101 completely fixes the issue and returns this trackpad to its former status.
Gestures work properly, single finger tracking is perfect and the overall experience is back to what I became used to during my review period with the Pro.
Though I hate that this device shipped and spent a few days with this very aggravating issue, it is great to see the fix come so swiftly!
Well done Samsung and Google!
