During the Guerrilla Collective livestream just now, Larian Studios dropped a new trailer and community update for Baulder’s Gate III which will, of course, be coming to Stadia. It was also announced that gamers would be able to play it in early access in August…maybe. The word ‘maybe’ was tacked on to the end of the video below because the studio is unsure of whether or not COVID-19 delays will hinder them further. For example, their motion capture actors are beginning to return to the studio to film more of the game’s character movements, but they can be seen wearing face masks as they work, which indicates that the team is clearly uneasy about going back to their work in the same capacity as they did before the virus struck.
Their eccentric founder, Swen Vincke, who dons a bow on his back during the community update, states that while the game’s visual fidelity will look significantly better during early access than it has during first looks, it will look even better afterwards as they have a large development period post early access to improve it. Upgrades have already been made to the combat system, the narration and more.
A live gameplay stream will be held on June 18th, 2020 on D&D Live where you can see more of what Larian Studios is working on. Stay tuned right here on Gaming Unboxed to see more!
