When the Samsung Chromebook Plus went up for pre-order it seemed that Samsung had their hands full fulfilling orders a month later when it was released.
The ASUS C302 Flip, however, was available at the time of announcement. For the most part, ASUS has been keeping a steady supply of units available for consumers.
Now, it seems, demand for the Core M convertible has overtaken the supply. Brought to our attention by one of our readers, it appears the ASUS C302 is “out of stock” or “temporarily unavailable” at the handful of retailers offering the Chromebook.
Depending on which site you shop, we are seeing a trend of 1-2 weeks or 10-15 days for availability.
While the Samsung Chromebook Plus seems to be garnering the limelight, sales of the ASUS look to be strong due in part to the more powerful processor and seemingly more stable user experience apart from Android Apps.
Having no real sales numbers available, it looks as though ASUS was well prepared for the roll-out of the C302 but possibly the increasing popularity has left a deficit in the Chromebook makers inventory.
The good news is that, as we’ve seen with the Samsung, expected availability dates are generally worst case scenario. What was a month for some consumers ended up being mere days.
If you’re still looking at grabbing the ASUS C302, there’s a good chance you won’t have to wait long. Now, if ASUS would be so kind, can we get some of those other models released? We’d appreciate it.
