After a rather long delay, we are finally starting to see the new Apollo Lake-powered Chromebooks available at online retailers. We currently have the HP Chromebook x360 11 EE in-house and will be posting our full review in the coming weeks.
Now, the Acer Chromebook Spin 11 has made its way to Amazon and you can even get it in Pearl White. The latest convertible from Acer is an education model designed with rugged specs, a touch screen, and optional Wacom EMR stylus. Both the black and Pearl White models are priced right at $400.
Currently, you can pick up the Acer Chromebook Spin 11 in black with now wait and it is available directly from Acer and many online retailers. The Pearl White model looks to still be on hold with a wait time of one to two months from Amazon. In our experience, that is Amazon’s way of saying “Acer hasn’t announced a release date and it could be two months or it could be tomorrow.” Either way, if you want to reserve the Pear White Spin you can do so now.
Here’s a rundown of what’s in the box:
- Chrome OS
- Intel Celeron N3350 processor 1.1GHz dual-core (Apollo Lake)
- 4GB RAM DDR4
- 32GB storage
- 11.6″ HD (1366 x 768) resolution IPS touch display
- 2 x USB-C 3.1, 2 x USB-A 3.0, MicroSD
- Wacom EMR Stylus
- spill-resistant keyboard with tamper-resistant keys
- reinforced rubber bumpers
- 360° convertible form-factor
- Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla®Glass (R751T model only)
We will be looking at getting our hands on one of these ASAP. I am very interested in seeing the Pearl White model in person. If you are in the market for a durable upgrade for you or a student, the Acer Chromebook Spin 11 may be a good choice. Pick one up from Amazon today.
